The International School of Culinary Arts & Sciences, Le Cordon Bleu Australia, has recently expanded its world-class training, launching a 5-week evening course, designed for anyone who wants to step up their passion for cooking without committing to a full-time degree.
Le Cordon Bleu Executive Dean, Professor Alan Bowen-James says Les Fondements de la Cuisine aka, The Fundamentals of Cooking short course could not have launched at a better time in Melbourne. The new course is born from an increased passion for cooking since the emergence of COVID-19.
‘Some forty-six percent of Australians are now creating more meals from scratch, declaring they have a new obsession with food. This stems from wanting a more simplified life and the desire to “get back to basics” after the year that was,’ Professor Alan Bowen-James explains.
‘If this challenging year has proved anything? It’s never too late to start doing what you love. From developing essential culinary techniques in week 1 to crafting the perfect puff with pastry principles in week 3, Melburnians have a fantastic opportunity to tickle their tastebud’s and learn something new.’
‘Who knows, this could potentially be the start of a new career or business venture as this short course provides hands-on opportunities to learn the techniques and skills to create professional dishes in a casual environment,’ Professor Alan Bowen-James said.
A new course is an excellent option for anyone looking to make a change but not sure if they’re ready to make the financial commitment to undertake a full certificate.
Le Cordon Bleu Australia’s new Les Fondements de la Cuisine short course is packed with culinary discoveries, including the world of gastronomy, shortcrust pastry, the creation of French tarts, fresh pasta making, gourmet ice cream, the principled of slow cooking, and so much more.
