Having opened in 1929, Sydney’s northern beaches clifftop icon Jonah’s Whale Beach will this January celebrate a 91 year milestone with an invitation only exclusive event with invitees including some of Australia’s biggest names in business, philanthropy, politics, sport and media.
Jonah’s is well regarded for its continued focus in delivering fine cuisine paired with a glorious expansive Pacific Ocean backdrop. However it’s the extensive wine list spanning over 80 pages of award-wining gems that has achieved the highest of awards. The list consists of more than 1,600 vintage Australian and international wines and now sits at the top of its class nationally.
Jonah’s Good Food Guide One Hat restaurant has just launched a new summer menu developed by Italian born Executive Chef Matteo Zamboni in collaboration with Food and Beverage Director Niels Sluiman. Dishes showcase the region’s finest sustainable seafood and include: flavoursome Mooloolaba king prawns, handmade casarecce pasta with spanner crab and spicy prawn oil, plus a light and delicious lemon tart with mascarpone cream and raspberries.
Also onsite are the eleven recently refurbished ocean retreat rooms, featuring elegant Hamptons meets French Riviera fresh styling. These dreamy, light-filled suites are lightly touched with tasteful elements: cool oak tones, brass finishings, plush linens and rope motifs that present subtle nautical feel. Each room features custom made furniture and its own private balcony showcasing more of those unbeatable 180 degree Pacific Ocean views.
Over the years celebrity clientele have included A listers: Anthony Hopkins, Members of Royal Family of Monaco, Elle Macpherson, Mick Jagger, Bono, Rod Stewart and many more. While not all guests may fit this high calibre, upper crust bracket, one thing’s for sure: a visit to Jonah’s certainly does makes one feel a part action. Happy 91st Jonah’s – we love you!
